Keeping it Quiet
I don’t have a problem with the N.Y.Times trying to keep the story of their kidnapped journalist under wraps, but I’m still a little confused as to how Wikipedia got involved.

The Planted Question
I think the real reason the M.S.M is ticked over this is simple. Most of the reporters there would have gladly thrown him an easy one, if only he’d asked.

So how do we get off oil?
We have to develop alternatives in the market place. When we overtax companies and consumers, there is no money left for re-investment. The fact of the matter is, technology is not ready to eliminate fossil fuels at this time. Let’s say everyone in America received a free electric car, Do we have enough re-charging stations? Do we have enough “clean” power plants to provide enough electricity? No. As technology improves and becomes more reliable, efficient, and affordable people will want to use cleaner energy. As it stands, only the wealthy can truly afford to go green, “clean” energy sources are expensive and unreliable. Cap and Trade will cause the cost-of-living for the rest of us to skyrocket, and hurt the energy companies that are currently working on a gradual change to cleaner energy. All great innovations take time to develop, a government mandate will not hasten these developments. As companies have less money to invest (due to taxes), innovation will actually slow down, leaving us with the expensive, unreliable “green” energy and the working class will struggle even more to pay their utilities and feed their families.
