If you are one of those people who still believes that ObamaCare won’t include taxpayer-funded abortions, it is time to wake up! We have watched as time and time again amendments barring publicly financed abortions were blocked by our Democratic lawmakers. Then, we saw versions of the bill which allowed for “vouchers” to be used to purchase abortion coverage. Each and every time the American people saw through the cleverly worded legislation and made their voices heard. Now, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying a new tactic. In section 222 of her bill, there is a part entitled “Abortions for Which Public Funding is Allowed” (at least she gives up all pretense). In this section, the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to decide which abortions should be covered by the taxpayers. Yes, that would be Kathleen Sebelius. A woman who has fiercely defended Planned Parenthood, blocked restrictions on partial-birth abortions, vetoed parental-notification laws, and even stopped an attempt to give legal recourse to victims of botched abortions! She also received campaign money from George Tiller ( the now deceased doctor who had numerous indictments for illegally performed partial-birth abortions and failing to report statutory rape and incest cases) and hand-picked Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison. Morrison, was later forced to resign after reports surfaced that he blocked investigations into abortion providers. Sebelius’s record clearly shows that she cares about the clinics and doctors who provide abortions even more than her dedication to so-called “women’s reproductive rights.” This is the person who will ensure our tax money is only spent on “necessary” abortions?
If that hasn’t convinced you, the Pelosi bill goes further. It requires that at least one insurance plan in the Exchange will cover abortions. It also sets up a fund to pay for abortion services. Section 213, under “Insurance Rating Rules,” establishes a monthly abortion premium to be paid by all enrolled in the government plan. This money will go to an account at the U.S. Treasury for the purpose of paying for abortion procedures.
The evidence is clear. No matter what we are told by our leaders in Washington, abortion will be covered in one fashion or another. If you think your money could be better spent, then please tell your representatives to vote “No!”

They passed the bill with a “no funding for abortion” amendment. they will discard this at their earliest convenience, or use lawsuits to facilitate abortion on demand, on our dime. Their previous actions determined their intent, and this amendment was only in place to get the legislation passed.
